First and foremost thank you all for your wonderful support at the Great Park in our annual cricket match against a York Club eleven.
Yes we did lose again but we ran them mighty close for the first time ever. They won the toss and amazingly put us in to bat first- 25 ‘s from Luke Wade, Dad Gary and the mayor of Old WindsorJason Hart took our total to a respectable 121 all out.
In their run chase the Park boys were always up with the required rate but we managed to keep taking the odd wicket. The team bowled well this year on the whole with Peter Phillips the pick of the bunch.
So it all came down to the last ball, Dicky (Lilly) Clarke bowling the last ball to Thomas Lazerczuk , they want 2 runs to win and unfortunately the ball was smashed through the covers for a four, end of!!!!
Thanks you to all the players on both sides, the umpires, scorer and Mrs Lazerczuk and her team for making it such an enjoyable evening.
Once again many thanks to you wonderful supporters of the club- and on to next year!!!
